Bellefontaine High School Envirothon members worked on a project to collect milkweed pods from the property of math teacher Mary Smith Monday.

Milkweed is a pollinator plant that local butterflies love to feed on.

In the fall, the unbloomed pods can be harvested for the following year.

The pods BHS students collected will be donated to the Logan Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD).

The next project for Envirothon will be the EcoSummit at the Columbus Zoo where students will plan and find resources for their yearly conservation project.

The Envirothon advisors are Chris Miller and Cody Sigrist.
