Bellefontaine School Board

The Bellefontaine Board of Education recognized academic excellence during their monthly meeting Monday night.

The board announced the recipients of the 18 Board of Education Scholarships.

The scholarships, amounts, awardees, and institutions of choice are listed below:

The board also approved the five-year forecast presented by BCS Treasurer Josh Wasson.

Wasson said the district is facing deficit spending, which he reviewed with the board.

It’s still too early to evaluate the impact of the Substitute Emergency Operating Levy that voters passed last fall.

The five-year forecast that will be presented in November will give a better picture of the levy’s impact.

In personnel, several administrative contracts were approved, including:

Whitney Stolly – BIS Associate Principal

Matthew Heaston – District Technology Coordinator

The board hired the following new employees:

Andrea Scott – EMIS Coordinator

Brooke Bahr – Middle School English Language Arts

Shawn Congleton – Middle School Guidance Counselor

Joseph Gengler – Middle School English Language Arts

Jake Kennedy – High School DECA

Raechel Noble – High School Intervention Specialist

Aaron Peitsmeyer – High School Business

Zoe Price – Elementary School Intervention Specialist

Elizabeth Ramsey – Mental Health Therapist

Meredith Richters – High School French/English

Robyn Torres – Elementary School Intervention Specialist

Ranee Achor – Head Cook

Karen Croston – Head Cook

Heather Evans – Preschool Educational Aide

Amanda Fisher – 2nd Shift Custodian

The board went into executive session for the annual evaluation of BCS Superintendent Brad Hall.

The results of the evaluation will be shared at the June board meeting.

Finally, the board recognized April Seniors of the Month Katie Pool and Malcom DeSouza.

DeSouza was unable to attend the board meeting.

The next board meeting will be June 20th at 6:30 p.m. in the Distance Learning Center.
