The Bellefontaine High School DARE Club and FCCLA Club teamed up early Wednesday morning to promote safe driving for the holidays.
The club members were assisted by Bellefontaine Police Department Officers Huffman, Loehr, and Walters to conduct a seat belt check at BHS between 7:15 a.m. and 7:35 a.m.
They checked occupants of the vehicles entering the BHS campus from the Harding Street entrances (near the fairgrounds). If the students had their seat belts on, they received a holiday sweet treat.
Here are the results:
244 total vehicle occupants checked
236 wearing seat belts
8 not wearing seat belts
The Bellefontaine High School DARE Club, FCCLA Club, and Bellefontaine Police Department remind us to buckle up for the holidays.
