Several Bellefontaine High School business students enjoyed a hands-on learning experience this month.

The BHS Entrepreneurship students recently completed their “Food Truck Wars" project.

They created a new food truck business concept, starting with a business plan that included their target market and pricing strategies. Students then created menu designs for their products. Finally, students constructed a prototype of their food trucks and displayed them in the hallways at BHS for staff to judge and vote on the best designs and ideas.

The overall winners were Claire Brown and Faith Manbevers who designed a new seafood food truck called Rockfort Port and Co. They brought in Crab Rangoon samples for judges to try.

Students also had their food truck designs observed by Small Nation Owner Jason Duff who was a guest speaker in the class during the project. He mentioned local food truck business successes such as The Flying Pepper Cantina and encouraged students to follow their passions in future endeavors.

The BHS Entrepreneurship class is taught by Aaron Peitsmeyer.
