Today is Bus Driver Appreciation Day across Ohio.

Bellefontaine City Schools is proud of the work our drivers do each day.

Tammie Garman is the transportation supervisor at Bellefontaine City Schools.

Garman and her staff safely drive students to and from Bellefontaine Elementary School, Bellefontaine Intermediate School, Bellefontaine Middle School, and Bellefontaine High School.

Garman said, “There are no words to express the appreciation I have for this group of drivers. These drivers have seen some crazy schedules thrown at them and have never blinked an eye. They just tell me we will get it done. In times of need for their fellow driver, they step up. If a driver is having a baby, they throw a baby shower. If a new driver only received a couple paychecks right before Christmas, they fill the garage with Christmas gifts for all her kids (5). If a driver is sick, they bring him/her meals and the list goes on and on. We are a family like no other; one I feel blessed to work with.

“The creativity we put together to get BCS students to where they need to be could blow the average person’s mind, but these drivers have seen and done it all to make it happen and continue to do so on a daily basis.

“PLEASE let a driver know how important they are because they sure think your little one is important.”
