The Bellefontaine High School Engineering Club, Teams, recently met virtually with Bellefontaine graduate Courtney Chervenak.

Courtney discussed ecological and civil engineering.

Chervenak also explained the importance of internships and mentoring to help students expand their experience and prepare for the workforce.

Finally, she detailed the importance of problem-solving skills in all engineering disciplines.

Courtney graduated with a degree in ecological engineering from The Ohio State University in December 2019.

She is currently working as a civil and environmental engineer on the site design team at DGL Consulting Engineers in Dublin, Ohio.

DGL specializes in civil, facility, and transportation engineering as well as surveying.

Chervenak said, “Engineering is an exciting profession for me because engineering is in everything we do as humans, even where you wouldn’t think to look!”

Courtney is working towards being certified as a professional engineer.
