Bellefontaine Elementary School welcomed the Class of 2035 Thursday morning.

It was the first day for kindergartners.

The eight kindergarten teachers explained classroom rules and introduced the students to the playground.

There are 172 kindergartners this year.

The first week is used to acclimate the young learners.

Half of the class comes in each day through next Tuesday.

Full classes will start on Wednesday, September 14th.

Kindergarten Readiness Assessment was held earlier this week.

The kindergarten teachers are Amy Bennett-Brinkman, Carol Fultz, Ami Horvath, Tracy Huffman, Megan Moeller, Heather Usserman, Heather Wechta, and Molly Wimmers.

Pre-K students also enjoyed their first day of classes at Bellefontaine Elementary School on Thursday.

Approximately 55 students are attending Pre-K this year at the elementary school.

Bellefontaine City Schools launched the in-house preschool this fall at BES.

This preschool is for 4 and 5-year-olds.
