Several Bellefontaine High School students have earned national accolades.

BHS recently received news that 20 of their students have been recognized for their exceptional achievement on Advanced Placement Exams.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program (AP) provides students the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school.

AP exams are monitored by the College Board and administered worldwide. These very difficult tests are scored by the national board and students receive scores of 1 through 5. Most four-year colleges in the United States provide credit and/or advanced placement for scores in at least the 3 or 4 range.

The College Board recognizes three levels of achievement based on students’ performances on AP exams.

Six students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction award. 2022 BHS graduates Milah Hunt, Morgan Burden, Samuel Moreland, Makayla Young, and seniors Neil Kauffman and Landon Kelley received this recognition for scoring an average of at least a 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

Current junior Oliver Moreland was recognized as an AP Scholar with Honor for scoring an average of 3.25 on all AP exams he has taken and scored a 3 or higher on four or more of those exams.

Thirteen students were recognized as AP Scholars for receiving a 3 or higher on at least three AP exams. Receiving this award were 2022 graduates Sarah Fulmer, Lincoln Howell, Cadence Latimer, Brielle Shultz, and Gabriella Stolly and current seniors Mason DeLong, Mekenzie Flora, Devin George, Jack Hutchins, Donnie LaRoche, Tierani Priest, Savannah Robbins, and Braelyn Wilcoxon.
