Third-graders involved in the Tradesters TEAM at Bellefontaine Intermediate School recently spent their Wednesday mornings exploring a variety of local trades.

Students were given the opportunity to learn about trades through projects, simulations, and discussions. Students began their exploration of local trades by learning about manufacturing through a shoe factory simulation.

Some of the many trades explored were electrician, construction, computer-aided design, coding, and painting.

The group completed a culminating project made possible with Logan County Education Foundation grant funds. For this project, students built and painted bird and butterfly homes to be donated to a local assisted living community.

The Tradesters Team is led by third-grade math and science teachers Galen Miller and Andy Crabill.
