BCS Board hires two principals

Bellefontaine board meeting

The Bellefontaine Board of Education hired two principals at their monthly meeting Monday night.

Jason Brown was hired to succeed Dr. Pam Noeth as the Bellefontaine high school principal.

Noeth led the high school for the past six years.

She was recently hired as senior director of curriculum, instruction, and innovation at Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center.

Erin Gillig was hired as the associate principal at Bellefontaine Elementary School.

She will replace Denise Johnson.

Brown and Gillig are BHS alums.

In other personnel, the board hired the following employees:

Katelyne Ackley – Intervention Specialist

Shaun Dunlap – Intervention Specialist

Matthew Garrett – English Language Arts

Benjamin Gillig – 5th Grade Science

Daulton Mosbarger – Academic Advisor

Lucas Pozenel – School Psychologist

Carl Burrows – Bus Driver

Kim Taylor – Bus Driver

GlennaLee Yelton – Substitute Bus Driver

Rebekah King – Educational Aide

Superintendent Brad Hall reflected on the hires. “We’re very glad to have a really good staff returning and welcome the new additions to the district.”

The board accepted the resignations of these employees:

Dr. Pam Noeth – High School Principal

Denise Johnson – Elementary Associate Principal

Abigail Luffy – High School English Language Arts

Matthew Brenner – High School Math

Patrick Delisio – 7th Grade Science

Bailey Robison – Psychological Assistant

A long list of supplemental contracts were approved. They include:

Jason Brown – High School Football Head Coach

Rick Reed – High School Football Assistant Coach

Tammy Overholser – High School Bowling Head Coach – 50%

Tammy Overholser – High School Bowling Assistant Coach – 50%

Tara Zedeker – High School Volleyball JV Coach

Jacey Greenwood – Middle School Volleyball Assistant Coach

Brooke Bahr – Middle School Basketball Cheer Head Coach

Micah Woolf – Robotics – 50%

The following high school volunteer coaches were approved:

Steve Henry – Girls Soccer

Caroline Federinko – Volleyball

Galen Miller – Boys Cross Country

Randy Varner – Girls Basketball

Biff Roberts – Football

BCS Transportation Supervisor Tammie Garman shared good news regarding busing for the upcoming school year.

Garman said BCS will have a full staff of bus drivers this fall.

There will be two combined routes in ’22-’23.

Middle school and high school students will ride on the same route.

The other combined route will include elementary school and intermediate school students.

The additional drivers will allow the elementary school to be in session from 8:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. each day.

BCS Director of Administrative Services Roger Ely gave an update on the high school renovation project.

Ely said water should be turned on later this week in the high school.

The building should be ready for the first day of classes on September 6th.

The board accepted a $3,300 donation from Costin Family Practice to purchase a new set of percussion instruments for the high school marching band.

Finally, the board went into executive session for the annual evaluation of Treasurer Josh Wasson.

The results of the evaluation will be shared at the August board meeting.

The next board meeting will be August 15th at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Office, 820 Ludlow Road.
