Two student leaders served as principals at Bellefontaine Middle School on Friday.

8th graders Zoey Austin and Ava Dolan were rewarded after earning 950 PBIS points (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) over the last two years.

The girls decided to use their points to serve as the principal.

Austin and Dolan shadowed BMS Principal Lynda Holycross throughout the day, which was declared Chieftain Pride Day.

Zoey and Ava learned the principal’s many responsibilities.

The agenda included meeting and greeting teachers, making cards for teachers, helping create student ambassadors, and prepping for Chromebook deployment on August 26th.

Dolan said, “The principal has to be on their toes all the time.”

BMS students earn PBIS points by going to school, participating in class, and helping other students learn.

The school features a Tribal Shop full of Chieftain gear.

Students earn the gear by accumulating a set number of PBIS points.

This year’s theme is B Proud.

Austin and Dolan are involved in many activities outside the classroom, too.

Austin plays basketball and softball.

Dolan participates in volleyball, basketball, softball, band, and orchestra.
