A former Bellefontaine assistant coach passed away over the weekend.

Lou Brunswick, 92, of Coldwater, died at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo on Friday, September 30th.

Lou is one of the most decorated high school baseball coaches in Ohio history.

He was the head coach at Coldwater from 1959-1993.

During those 35 years, his teams had a combined record of 750-166 and won state titles in ’83, ’84, ’87, ’90, and ’92.

Brunswick was a longtime assistant baseball coach at BHS while his son Mark was the head coach.

Lou touched the lives of many youth and families in both communities.

Brunswick is survived by his wife, Ann, along with their 7 children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 5th from 2-8 p.m. and Thursday, October 6th from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 6th at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater.
