The giving spirit at Bellefontaine City Schools was on display during the first week of classes.

BCS staff members donated $26,702 to the annual United Way of Logan County campaign, surpassing their goal of $25,000.

The weeklong campaign wrapped up on September 9th.

161 employees donated.

The average gift was $165.

Longtime high school Spanish teacher Jeanie Tipple led the campaign.

United Way of Logan County Executive Director Dave Bezusko said, “United Way fights for the health, the EDUCATION, and the financial stability of every person in Logan County.

“As such, to have this ringing endorsement of financial support from the professional educators throughout Bellefontaine City Schools is humbling. It demonstrates their unparalleled compassion for the students and families they serve. And it shows they view us as a true partner in the work of education and fostering our next generation. We promise to use these donations wisely to make the greatest possible impact in Logan County.”

Last year, BCS had the 7th highest campaign in the county.

The United Way of Logan County has a campaign goal of $1.1 million this fall.
