Bellefontaine High School recently named its Seniors of the Month.

Name: Milah Hunt

Parents: Jason and Janna Hunt

Address: West Liberty

School activities and awards: Varsity Cheer, National Honor Society, Chieftain Leaders, Spanish National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Honda-Ohio State STEM Award, and Most Outstanding Cheerleader Award.

If I were principal for a day: I would let everyone bring their pets to school.

Favorite school memory: The Hunger Games dodgeball tournament freshman year when Aiden Hartley broke the glass bowl.

People who have been an inspiration to me: My parents because we started from the bottom and now we are here!

Lately I’ve been reading: The American Pageant.

My advice to parents: Encourage your kids to be involved and take hard classes.

Next year: I will be attending The Ohio State University to study biomedical engineering with a minor in Spanish.

Name: Connor Skidmore

Parents: Nathan and Amanda Skidmore

Address: Bellefontaine

School activities and awards: Cross Country, Track, Second and Special Mention CBC Awards in Cross Country & Track, Best First Year Runner and Best Runner Cross Country, Best Distance Track, Regional Qualifier in Cross Country & Track, Clark State Dean’s List Fall 2021, Rotary Academic Achievement, BHS Academic Excellence, Envirothon/Environmental Club, BHS Musicals (“West Side Story”, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”, & “Sister Act”), and Heart of a Chieftain Award.

If I were principal for a day: I would allow all students to leave for lunches and extend lunch periods.

Favorite school memory: The Division I Cross Country Regionals my sophomore year since the whole team was enjoying ourselves and the race was fun.

People who have been an inspiration to me: My grandparents because they have always found a way to make it to everything I have been in and also support the other kids involved.

Lately I’ve been reading: The State and Revolution by V.I. Lenin.

My advice to parents: There is a middle ground between being a parent and being their friend. Find that middle ground in your relationship with your child.

My biggest regret: Not taking more opportunities earlier in my high school career since I have had to rush to finish or make projects that could have been easier with more time.

Next year: I will be attending Ohio Wesleyan University to major in environmental studies and zoology. I will also be continuing my running career as a member of the cross country & track teams.
