Bellefontaine City Schools is proud to announce its Thursday Tribe Member of the Week.

Martha Earick is this week’s recipient.

Title: Superintendent’s Secretary

Years of experience: I’ve worked in the district for 13 years as an educational aide, custodian, and most recently (2 years) as secretary to the superintendent.

Why you love being a Chieftain: I’m extremely proud to be a part of the BCS family and I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given as both a former student of BCS and a current staff member. I’ve always felt nothing but love and support from my fellow co-workers and will forever cherish the many memories I have of working with some of the greatest kiddos I’ve ever known. BCS will always be a place my heart will call home!

Classroom motto or quote to live by: “People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.” – Mother Teresa

What you love doing outside of school: I love spending time with my family. It doesn’t matter what we’re doing, I just love being together. Outdoor activities are my favorite, mostly any time of the year. I enjoy a summer barbecue and a good game of cornhole, winter walks with my dog, and the annual fishing trip to Canada with the love of my life, Max, (who always outfishes me no matter how hard I try).
