The generosity of Bellefontaine City Schools’ employees was recently recognized by the United Way of Logan County.

The popular non-profit organization held its Annual LIVE UNITED Awards Ceremony at Green Hills Foundation Hall last week.

The United Way of Logan County annual campaign raised a record $1,102,249 last fall.

It’s the fifth straight year the county has surpassed $1 million.

BCS employees gave $26,272, which was the ninth largest campaign in Logan County.

United Way of Logan County Executive Director Dave Bezusko recapped the BCS donation. “I continue to be amazed by the unparalleled support of our BCS teachers and staff, but I’m not surprised because a teacher has a true heart for their students. Not just to impart knowledge, but to see them succeed in life. And when teachers see that they can do something concrete to help a student who has a need beyond the classroom, they are going to take the initiative to do just that. United Way is blessed to partner with the district in multiple ways to serve students and their families outside the classroom.”

The United Way fights for the health, education, and financial stability of everyone in Logan County. It does so by facilitating successful agency partnerships that enable a safe, healthy, and caring community. More than a fundraiser, the United Way collaborates with businesses, non-profits, government, and civic organizations to help meet the social service needs of our community.
