The 13th episode of “Chieftain Roll Call” has been released.

The Bellefontaine High School Key Club launched the new podcast in January.

The weekly show focuses on BHS Athletics and student organizations.

The most recent show features 2018 BHS alum Drew Jackson.

Earlier this month, Jackson started as the youth experience director (program director) at the Hilliker YMCA in Bellefontaine.

He graduated with a degree in recreational management at Ohio University on April 30th.

Jackson was a student manager for the Ohio University men’s basketball team throughout college.

He reflected on that experience on this week’s podcast.

Jackson helped coordinate practices and traveled with the team.

He said those experiences will help him transition into his new role.

Jackson also discussed his vision and goals at the Hilliker YMCA.

He will focus on helping our youth through various activities and events at the Y.

One example is T-Ball, which many youth are enjoying this month.

The early portion of the podcast featured in-depth talk about high school principals overwhelmingly voting down the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) proposal in Ohio on May 16th.

There was also an update on the recent recruitment of Bellefontaine freshman quarterback Tavien St. Clair.

“Chieftain Roll Call” is hosted by Bill Tipple.

Teacher/coach Rick Reed and BHS student-athlete Jack Varner are regular contributors, too.

BHS Key Club members and students in Aaron Gregor’s TV Production class help produce and record the show.

“Chieftain Roll Call” is sponsored by Easton Water Solutions.

Easton Water funds the Key Club Scholarship, which is presented each year to at least one BHS grad.

This year’s recipient is Courtney Sims.
