Clark said, “Coach Moeller was a great asset for me as a young man and as a football player. He was an intense motivator and loved the game.

“I was fortunate enough to have him as my position coach as a freshman. The techniques that he taught me at the linebacker position were useful throughout my entire football career.

“I had a lot of respect for Coach Gary Moeller.”

Moeller graduated from Lima Senior, then played at Ohio State from ’60-’62.

The standout linebacker was a captain for the Buckeyes.

Michigan won three Big Ten titles and went 4-1 in bowl games.

Moeller was associated with the University of Michigan for 23 years.
