A Bellefontaine grad will be showcasing her heritage this weekend.

Renee Stoltzfus will be leading the first-ever Brazilian street festival in Cincinnati.

The festival will be held Sunday, September 4th from 5-11 p.m. outside the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater at 801 Mason Place, Cincinnati.

Brazil Day Cincinnati will feature several different local Brazilian arts groups.

The day will include music, food, dance, martial arts, kids’ party activities, and a DJ to end the night with a bang.

Stoltzfus added, “It’s really going to be something special and my organization is so proud to start an event that will hopefully grow and grow to become the largest well-known and respected annual Brazilian cultural celebration in the region.

“I have spent years wishing that there would be a true Brazilian Day festival here in Ohio. I came to the realization that perhaps as a Brazilian-born, Ohio-raised artist with a growing network of arts connections, I should take on the endeavor.

“My non-profit organization, Joy Brasileira, was created to be able to lean on this mission to bridge cultural divides here in the region. This is our first event that we have produced, and it has been an absolute joy to bring together the Brazilian community here in Cincinnati and to shine a public light on some amazing cultural businesses and arts groups that are available.”

Stoltzfus graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 2008.

She then earned her degree in musical theater at Ohio Northern University.

Stoltzfus has enjoyed a career in acting, modeling, and dancing in Cincinnati.
