Brown wins Coaches CC National Championship

Three Bellefontaine Middle School runners excelled in the Coaches Cross Country Youth National Championships in Shelbyville, Indiana, on Saturday.

Grace Brown ran away with her first victory on the national stage winning the meet in a field of 171 runners.

Brown raced the 4K course in a personal-best time of 14:06, which is the 3rd fastest time in the nation this season.

Jake Moreland and Oliver Grandstaff competed in the boys race.

In a field of 229 runners, Moreland placed 42nd with a time of 14:05.

Grandstaff finished 70th with a personal-best time of 14:31.

Brown will compete in one more race, the USATF National Championships in Texas on December 10th.

Brown, Moreland, and Grandstaff are eighth-graders.

The BMS cross country coach is Jordan Kesler.
