Bellefontaine High School recently named its Seniors of the Month.

Name: Sullivan Ashcraft

Parents: Daniel and Meghan Ashcraft

Address: Bellefontaine

School activities and awards: Football, Basketball, Track, Band, National Honor Society, and multiple academic, football, and track awards.

If I were principal for a day: I would host a schoolwide dodgeball and Capture the Flag tournament.

Favorite school memory: Playing football games on Friday nights.

People who have been an inspiration to me: My coaches and family.

My advice to parents: Encourage your kids to participate in activities and let them be teenagers.

My biggest regret: Going to the University of Toledo football camp.

Next year: I will be living my best life.

Name: Olivia Ullom

Parents: Kerry and Sherri Ullom

Address: Bellefontaine

School activities and awards: Volleyball, Swimming, DARE, Agape, National Honor Society, Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Yearbook, Academic Excellence Awards, CBC Academic Awards, January 2022 Athlete of the Month, 4-Year Varsity Letter Winner, CBC First Team (Swimming 200 Free Relay), CBC Second Team (Swimming 400 Free Relay), CBC Special Mention (Swimming 400 Free Relay and 200 Free), CBC Volleyball Sportsmanship Award, Volleyball Flexibility Award, Girls Swimming Most Improved Award, Junior Homecoming Attendant, and Homecoming Queen Candidate.

If I were principal for a day: I would serve an endless amount of free cheese-filled breadsticks for lunch.

Favorite school memory: Going to the district swim meet with my best friends my junior year and coming back from behind in the 400 freestyle relay to beat Kenton Ridge and win our heat.

People who have been an inspiration to me: My parents because they have always shown my sisters and me nothing but love and support in everything we do. I can’t explain how much they’ve made an impact on my life and the love I have for them. They will forever be the strongest people I know and I am so thankful for everything they do.

Lately I’ve been reading: My collection of Colleen Hoover and Nicholas Sparks books.

My advice to parents: Always show compassion, kindness, and love to your kids. Even when teenagers act like they don’t need it, they definitely do! Never forget that mental health and wellbeing comes first. And always remind your kids to be kind to others; you never know what someone is going through.

My biggest regret: Not taking in every moment of high school sports and activities because it goes by faster than you think.

Next year: I will be going to a 4-year state university to study nursing in hopes to become an ER or travel nurse.
