The winning team

Entrepreneurship and innovation were on full display in Emily Clinehens’ business class at Bellefontaine High School last week.

Students presented their Olympic Stadium Project to a panel of judges.

The weeklong exercise featured teams of 3-4 students.

Each of the five teams had to design and build their stadium for the 2032 Summer Olympics in an undetermined U.S. city.

The teams used data and demographics to explain why they chose their host city.

This information was shared to the judges in a slide presentation.

After the slides, the judges asked questions about each stadium and host city.

The winning team included Myles DeLong, Cale Kline, Ella Reier, and Zavier May.

Their host city was San Diego.

The lesson taught project management, leadership management, and teamwork.

Clinehens said, “We’ve been doing this project the last few years. It helps students to better understand the importance of teamwork in large projects.”
