Bellefontaine High School recently named its Seniors of the Month.

Name: Ally Barker

Parents: Mike and Devry Barker

Address: Bellefontaine

School activities and awards: DARE, BHS Golf Team, Les Fons, Symphonic Choir, Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Chieftain Leaders, National Honor Society, Chieftain Backers, Outstanding Academic Awards (Music & World Language), Academic Excellence Awards, Heart of a Chieftain Award, Academic Honors Awards (CBC), and Homecoming Queen.

If I were principal for a day: I would host a big pep rally with the whole school and play hide-and-seek throughout BHS!

Favorite school memory: Having the opportunity to be on the homecoming court and eating KFC with the other amazing people on the court with me.

People who have been an inspiration to me: Mr. Brice Henry for always working hard and always understanding and loving his choirs. Also, all of my teachers who show endless support to their students. They truly care about our success.

Lately I’ve been reading: Colleen Hoover and my textbooks for physics and English.

My advice to parents: Don’t set standards/goals for your kids; teach them how to set them for themselves. Teach them that mental health should come before a 4.0 GPA. Also, always remind your kids to be kind. Showing endless support and love means more than you know.

My biggest regret: Holding myself to an unreasonable academic standard and not trying different sports/activities throughout high school.

Next year: I will be attending an undecided college to major in education.

Name: Jack Hutchins

Parents: Linda Erwin-Hutchins and David Hutchins

Address: Bellefontaine

School activities and awards: National Honor Society, DARE, Honda Academic Breakfast, Track 1 year, Basketball 3 years, Football 2 years, Band, TEAMS, and Orchestra.

If I were principal for a day: I would have outdoor music and a cookout for the day.

Favorite school memory: Coach Brown putting March Madness on the Smart Board my junior year.

People who have been an inspiration to me: Ms. Mount, Coach Sigrist, Coach Brown, and my family.

Lately I’ve been reading: My psychology textbook and The Modern Man.

My advice to parents: Push your kid but let them be young.

My biggest regret: Not participating in activities earlier in high school.

Next year: I will be pursuing an engineering degree at a four-year university.
