First-graders at Bellefontaine Elementary School recently completed a fun experiment.
Students in Miss Richmond’s class learned about spiders earlier this month.
Students put their knowledge to work during the experiment.
Step 1: Students designed their webs on cups (just like a spider would make its web).
Step 2: An insect gets trapped inside the sticky web (sugar cubes were used as insects).
Step 3: Digestive juice from the spider was poured on the web to make the insect soft (green juice was used for this).
Step 4: Spiders don’t chew their food; they suck it up (straws were used to suck/eat the food).
