St. Clair’s record night powers Chiefs to huge win

A record-setting night by Bellefontaine sophomore quarterback Tavien St. Clair led the Chiefs past host Springfield Shawnee 53-32 in football Friday night.
St. Clair had a career night. He was 25-of-29 passing for 412 yards and 7 touchdowns.
St. Clair set school records for passing yards and touchdown passes in a single game.
The previous records were set by Chris Walden and Colby Furlong, respectively.
Walden passed for 369 yards vs. Springfield Shawnee in 2003.
Furlong fired 6 touchdown passes vs. Greenon in 1990.
BHS jumped out to a 33-14 halftime lead and never looked back Friday.
St. Clair passed for 245 yards in the second quarter.
Several teammates delivered big games, too.
Junior Riley Neer had 9 catches for 149 yards and 3 TDs.
Neer added a 45-yard touchdown run.
CJ Wilson recorded 8 catches for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Running back Chris Fogan rushed for 135 yards on 22 carries.
Fogan also made a sensational one-handed touchdown catch.
BHS has won five straight games to improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.
The Chiefs will host Jonathan Alder for Senior Night on Friday, October 7th.
