Chelsea Horsley signs with Siena Heights.

One of the area’s premier wrestlers has made her college choice.

Bellefontaine standout Chelsea Horsley signed her letter of intent with Siena Heights University earlier this week.

She was joined by her family, teammates, and coaches during the signing ceremony in the BHS Distance Learning Center.

Horsley chose Siena Heights because of the education and coaches.

The Saints will kick off their inaugural women’s wrestling season in the fall.

The private university is located in Adrian, Michigan.

Horsley, who started wrestling in sixth-grade, has put together a stellar career.

She won the girls state title in 2020.

Chelsea was runner-up at the state meet last season.

She just won her third district title last weekend in Marysville at 105 lbs.

Horsley will compete in the state meet at Hilliard Davidson on Saturday and Sunday.

She plans to study early childhood education.

Horsley also considered Indiana Tech, Adrian College, and Tiffin University.

Her parents are Eric Horsley and Ashley Elleman.

Horsley reflected on her signing, “I’m looking forward to meeting new people and wrestling at the next level.”

Bellefontaine wrestling coach Brady Hiatt added, “I think the world of Chelsea. She’s fearless, tough, and very talented. She has matured into a delightful young lady.”
