The Bellefontaine High School cheerleading team is a state champ.
The Chiefs won the OAC State Cheer competition at Marysville on Sunday.
There are four divisions at the state meet - traditional (tumbling, jumping, and dancing), traditional non-building (tumbling, cheer, and dance), building (tumbling, cheer, and dance), and game day (cheers and fight song).
BHS competed in the traditional non-building middle size school division.
Bellefontaine also had the highest point total of all middle size schools in all four divisions.
Team members for the Chiefs include: Harper Penhorwood, Corbin Baker, Mia Oppy, Belen Abrego, Brianna Kindle, Hailey Coyer, Ava Kunze, Ella Kuba, Lexi Yoder, and Lauren Valdez.
In November, Bellefontaine finished 3rd in the Central Buckeye Conference championship meet.
Bellefontaine is coached by Alysia Kuba and Andrea Simon.
The Chiefs will host a cheerleading competition on Saturday, February 4th.
