Bellefontaine Middle School 7th grade English Language Arts (ELA) classes were recently held outdoors.
Students enjoyed language-related activities and a fun “spirit” station.
Teachers Joliece Reed, Cathy Ulmer, and Chelsea Johnson led the classes.
Reed said, “About five years ago, we started reading Fridays. It’s a day where we specifically work on vocabulary and we read around the room. Since the weather has been so nice, the teachers thought it would be fun to mix in a fun activity with a spirit station.”
Mrs. Ulmer’s students read short stories to showcase how characters interact with the theme.
Reed’s students worked with prefixes and suffixes.
Johnson hosted a spirit station that focused on Chieftain Pride.
Her students also used sidewalk chalk to express kindness to others.
