BCS students shine in Lee’s Wall of Fame

Bellefontaine City Schools is well represented in the Wall of Fame at Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken in Bellefontaine.

The Bellefontaine Police Department, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, and 98.3 WPKO & 107.3 The Drive unveiled the newest Wall of Fame members Tuesday night.

Four students from Bellefontaine City Schools and two students from Calvary Christian were honored during the ceremony at the restaurant.

The inductees were chosen by staff members for their leadership, selfless service to others, and dedication to making our community better.

Each school was asked to select one student and provide a summary of why the student was chosen.

Their photo and summary are featured in the Wall of Fame display in the restaurant.

The inductees include:

Ella Willett, Bellefontaine Elementary School, 1st-grader

Bellefontaine Elementary School is privileged to honor first-grader Ella Willett with the Lee's Wall of Fame Award for the second nine weeks. Ella comes into the classroom each day ready to help others with a big smile. She is a leader - even when she thinks no one is watching! Ella is a student who is always an active participant in her own learning and encourages others to do the same. Ella is a kind friend to every single student that crosses her path! She is honest, even when it’s hard, and is someone that her teacher and classmates can count on! Congratulations Ella! BES is proud of you! -Erin Gillig

Britton Evans, Bellefontaine Intermediate School, 4th-grader

Britton is a hard worker and a student leader in the classroom every day. He is always looking for ways to help and truly cares about learning. Britton is a great friend, who builds his friends up and keeps the peace when conflicts arise. He has a great heart and treats others with respect and kindness. Kennedy Usas, Bellefontaine Middle School, 7th-grader

Out of all the students we have on our team, Kennedy leads by true example of what it means to work hard on every task that is given and have a diligent mindset to accomplish her work. She treats each student with respect and is willing to work with anyone on a task given. She may not be the loudest student in the room, but her actions speak volumes about her character and her ability to meet the high expectations she sets for herself. She will truly be successful in whatever she chooses to pursue in the future. - Gavin Yoder

Jayda Butler, Bellefontaine High School, 12th-grader

Jayda Butler is a senior standout at Bellefontaine High School. Jayda is an honor student who brings her best to BHS daily and exceeds our building expectations - BE SAFE, BE RESPECTFUL, BE A LEARNER, and BE A CHIEFTAIN. A member of the National Honor Society, Jayda is a quiet leader in the classroom and on the tennis court that serves as a role model to her peers. In addition to her academic and athletic accomplishments, Jayda is an avid supporter of Chieftain Athletics and can be seen at home and away games cheering on the Chiefs with her friends. Jayda has a bright future ahead as she looks to continue her educational career studying at a four-year college. The staff at Bellefontaine High School is proud to recognize Jayda as this quarter’s Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken Wall of Famer. Go Chiefs! - Cliff Core

Zion Brown, Calvary Christian Middle School, 6th-grader

Zion volunteers to help me almost daily in class. He is dependable, cheerfully helpful, a good listener, and honest. Teachers have been impressed with his maturity; he has worked hard to be patient and learn self-control and his hard work has paid off. He is a young man of integrity. He is a great example to his classmates and a great representative of Calvary. Congratulations Zion, we are proud of you.

Kari Gantz, Calvary Christian High School, 11th-grader

Kari is a very active student in our school. She participates in volleyball, basketball, our student-led worship team, YLA, and other school clubs. Kari is a diligent worker who strives to do her best in her classes. Kari cares about others, and she serves God with a happy heart. Kari has a bright future ahead of her. Congratulations Kari!
