Lauren Burkhardt is this week’s recipient.

Title: Preschool Teacher

Years of experience: I’m currently teaching my 14th year at BCS – 12 years have been spent teaching kindergarten, one year in first grade, and now preschool.

Why you love being a Chieftain: I’m proud to be a part of the Chieftain Community. I feel like I’m part of a family. I show up to work with an incredible team that works so hard to educate our students and have as much fun as possible! Having graduated a Chieftain, and now working to educate the next generation of Chieftains, makes me feel proud!

Classroom motto or quote to live by: “I get by with a little help from my friends.”

What you love doing outside of school: I prefer my toes in the lake or the ocean and my nose in a good book. But when I can’t, I’m trying to defeat my kids in winning the family game night trophy. I love dance parties in the kitchen and bonfires in the backyard.
