School/Parent Compact

Bellefontaine City Schools, and the parents and/or guardians of the students participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title I agree that this compact outlines how parents, the school staff, and students will share responsibility for improved student academic achievement and will build a partnership that will help our students achieve Ohio’s high standards. This school-parent compact is in effect during the school year.

 

Bellefontaine City Schools will:

  • Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet Ohio’s student academic achievement standards.
  • Hold parent-teacher conferences at least four times throughout the school year during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.
    • A calendar of parent-teacher conference dates can be viewed on the district web site www.bellefontaine.k12.oh.us
  • Provide parents with frequent reports on their child’s progress.
    • BES & BIS – parent ProgressBook portal and interims or grade cards every 4 weeks
    • BMS – parent ProgressBook portal and interims or grade cards every 4 weeks
  • Provide parents reasonable access to staff
    • Email, phone calls, parent nights, open house
  • Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class, and to observe classroom activities.

 

We, as parents, will support our children’s learning in the following ways:

  • Monitor attendance
  • Ensure homework is completed
  • Volunteer in the school
  • Participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to my children’s education
  • Promote positive use of my child’s extracurricular time
  • Stay informed about my child’s academic progress
