Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month
at 6:30 PM in the Distance Learning Center at Bellefontaine High School.

President:  Colin Yoder  
began serving on the Board in January 2020. His current term ends December 31, 2027. Colin is a graduate of Bellefontaine City School District and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Toledo. Colin currently works in marketing communications at OhioHealth a faith-based, not-for-profit healthcare system in Columbus, Ohio, and previously worked in the office of the Franklin County Board of Commissioners. He previously served as a deacon of the 1st United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine and served as co-chair of the 2019 Bellefontaine City School District operating levy committee. He received the Friend of Education award from the Bellefontaine Education Association in 2019 and is a past recipient of the Central Ohio Public Relations Society of America Prism Award. Colin and his wife, Carrie, have two children who are students in the District.

Mark Fissel

began serving on the Board in January, 2020. His current term ends December 31, 2027. Mark is a graduate of Bellefontaine City School District, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Management from Miami University, in Oxford. He started his career with Siemens Energy & Automation, where he and his wife lived and worked in Atlanta, GA and then abroad in Amberg, Germany. After spending time in the family retail flooring business, Mark set off and co-founded Beacon Hill Investment Advisory in 2008, becoming a licensed investment advisor and earning the distinction of Certified Financial Planner, CFP® and Accredited Investment Fiduciary, AIF®. He has been involved locally on several Board of Directors; namely the Downtown Bellefontaine Partnership, Hilliker YMCA, Logan County Chamber of Commerce, and Community Improvement Corporation (CIC). Mark has served as Treasurer of the City of Bellefontaine since January, 2014. Prior to that, he served as City Councilman-at-Large for three consecutive terms and Finance Committee Chairman. In the late 2000’s, Mark and his high-school friends, developed, fund-raised and constructed the area’s first Disc Golf Course located at Mary Rutan Park. Mark and his wife, Stephanie, have four children who are students in the District.

Board Member:  Kristen Lang
began serving on the Board in January of 2024.  Her current term ends December 31st, 2027.  Kristen is a graduate of Bellefontaine City School District, and she received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  She is employed as a speech pathologist at Mary Rutan Hospital, and serves as the Lead Therapist and Speech Department Manager.  Kristen's current clinical focus is in the treatment of adult patients with language, cognitive, swallowing, and voice impairments, and she is a Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders.  She was previously employed at Memorial Hospital in Marysville, Ohio, and also has prior experience providing speech pathology services in both preschool and elementary school settings in the Cincinnati, Dayton, and Marysville areas.  Kristen previously served as the chairperson for the 2021 Bellefontaine City School District Substitute Levy Committee, and she was a trustee on the Logan County Education Foundation.  She is an active volunteer in multiple capacities with Music and Athletic Boosters as well.  Kristen enjoys teaching Jazzercise at Jazzercise Bellefontaine, watching her children in their many athletic and music/performance endeavors, reading, and spending time with friends and family.  Kristen's husband, Caleb, is also a graduate of Bellefontaine City Schools, and their two children are current students in the District.

Board Member:  Bryn Daring-Stewart
Bryn Daring-Stewart began serving on the Board in January, 2022. Her current term ends December 31, 2025. Bryn  is a graduate of Bellefontaine City Schools and received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in the College of Business from the Ohio University. In 2003, Bryn started her career as a Realtor with Royer Realty and then pursued her Broker's license. In 2016, Bryn purchased Royer Realty from Dava Royer. She has been active in the Realtor community as past president of Western Regional Information Systems & Technology, Inc. and past president of Midwestern Ohio Association of Realtors. Bryn and her husband, JR, have two daughters who are students in the District.

Board Member: Karen Wilson
was appointed to the Board in August, 2020, to fill a term that expired in 2021. She was reappointed to another term in January 2022. Her current term ends December 31, 2025. Karen is a graduate of The Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University with a degree in Economics. She has served on multiple committees and teams over the years and is currently serving on the Bellefontaine Elementary School PTO and the Bellefontaine Intermediate School PTO. She has three children who attend Bellefontaine City Schools. Karen enjoys serving in the children's ministry at her church. She currently manages her family's business, Manchester Farms, along with her husband Caleb. Karen is invested in our schools and loves any opportunity to encourage students and teachers in the work of education.
