The Bellefontaine High School DARE Club hosted an event at BHS Wednesday morning to promote safe and sober teen driving before Homecoming.
DARE Club members along with Bellefontaine Police Department Officers Walters and Loehr conducted a seat belt check at BHS between 6:45 a.m. and 7:15 a.m.
They checked occupants of the vehicles entering the BHS campus from the Harding Street entrances (near the fairgrounds). If the students had their seat belts on, they received candy.
Here are the results:
200 total vehicle occupants checked
191 wearing seat belts
9 not wearing seat belts
The Bellefontaine High School DARE Club and Bellefontaine Police Department remind us to buckle up.
