Snow, Ice, Fog…

We are approaching the time of year when snow and ice can make it challenging to have school open. The Bellefontaine City School District has the ability to provide remote lessons through Schoology. That will eliminate the need to cancel school due to bad weather. This year, rather than cancel school, bad weather days will be remote days.

While a two-hour delay will still be an option, school will not be cancelled for snow, ice, fog, water main breaks, etc… Rather than receiving a call from me saying the district is closed due to poor weather conditions, you will receive a call saying, “Due to poor weather conditions, Bellefontaine City Schools will be having a remote learning day. Students will not be attending school and should look for lessons in Schoology.”

On the days the district is remote due to bad weather, teachers will have lessons for release in Schoology and be accessible to support students and families.

We know and understand that there will be students at home who will not have access to technology or a device. Do not stress over this issue. We will not penalize students who need the support and access to technology we provide in person. Students will be given the time to complete the assignments and some may need to complete them through the technology we have available at school.

Go Chiefs!
