Bellefontaine Elementary School teacher Michaela Baker is the district’s winner of the 2022 Quest Federal Credit Union Teacher of the Year Award.

Baker, who’s a BHS alum, is finishing her 3rd year teaching for Bellefontaine City Schools. She teaches first grade.

Baker said, “I feel honored to win this prestigious award, especially at such a young age.”

She added, “I love teaching. My students are my little best friends. It’s so rewarding to see them grow academically, emotionally, and socially.”

Baker was nominated by a parent and a grandparent.

Baker credited several mentors at BES, including principals Pat Martz and Denise Johnson along with teachers Linda McQuinley and Lindsay Hogan.

Quest Federal Credit Union honored five outstanding educators at their annual awards banquet Wednesday afternoon at Bella Vino in downtown Bellefontaine.

One recipient was recognized from Bellefontaine City Schools, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, and Calvary Christian.

Each award winner was presented with a glass trophy and gift card.
