Bellefontaine High School recently named its Seniors of the Month.

Name: Jaquan Mundy

Parents: Tallulah Mundy and Carlos Coleman

Address: Bellefontaine

School activities and awards: Chieftain Leaders, GSA Club, and Special Teams Player of the Year and Sportsmanship Award in Football.

If I were principal for a day: I would make Friday a social day where everyone gets put into randomized groups and does group activities.

Favorite school memory: I can’t really remember a specific memory, but you can never go wrong with Field Day. Field Days are the best!

People who have been an inspiration to me: My inner self and Coach Brown.

Lately I’ve been reading: Wayne Dyer’s Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life.

My advice to parents: Don’t make decisions for your kids all the time because of something you wanted and want your kid to want, too. Trust your kid to make the right decision and if they don’t, help them and support their dreams no matter how big or small you see it.

My biggest regret: Not being people’s friend because I judged them from their looks.

Next year: I don’t really know just yet; nothing has ever really gone as planned for me. I am currently focusing on the present moment and anything can happen in the future! I know I control my future and I am looking into massage therapy school or furthering my interest as a social media influencer by studying public relations in college.

Name: Mia McDonald

Parents: Dal and Kim McDonald

Address: Bellefontaine

School activities and awards: Chieftain Leaders, DARE Club, Envirothon, BHS Cheerleader for 4 years, CBC Honorable Mention and Leadership Award in cheerleading, and Academic Letter B along with Academic Pins for 4 years.

If I were principal for a day: I would call for an assembly all day where we do fun science experiments. I would do this because I love science and bringing everyone together to do that would be so cool.

Favorite school memory: All of our school dances. It brings everyone together and it’s so fun to be able to dress up with your friends. I especially liked my junior year prom because it was right after COVID so it was just a fun time for everyone.

People who have been an inspiration to me: My parents. They have helped me get through everything in life so far and will continue to help me grow. Ms. Mount because she makes every day so bright for everyone even though her class is sometimes on the challenging side. She will always ask if anyone needs anything and is always on top of everything. Finally, Dr. Carey. When I had her for a teacher she was the one teacher I could go to for anything and everything. I’m so thankful for all of them.

Lately I’ve been reading: Every inch of my textbooks to prepare for my next test!”
In my free time, I’ve been reading Live by Sadie Robertson. This book is a good pick me up and a good refresher on Bible verses.

My advice to parents: If your kid comes home from school, give them a little time before you say, “Hey, got any homework? If so, better get on it.” Just allow your kid to have a break before more work because school is hard.

My biggest regret: Not staying in band and choir. They look like they have so much fun all the time and I wish I could be more a part of that experience.

Next year: I will be attending Bowling Green State University majoring in biology and minoring in psychology. I will then attend a 2-year radiology school and a 1-year ultrasound school.
