A Bellefontaine High School teacher has been recognized for his impact beyond the classroom.

BHS DECA Advisor Jake Kennedy was recently spotlighted by the Social Emotional Learning Alliance for Ohio.

Kennedy was nominated for his dedication to ensuring his students succeed in extracurriculars and prepare for life post-graduation.

Coach Kennedy was nominated by a former student’s parent for his passion for developing the youth that he serves.

The nominator said, “Mr. Kennedy not only helps students in the DECA and football programs succeed in their interest areas but challenges them to be better individuals. He leads by example and always expects the most from the students. He teaches them about life responsibility, how to build practical communication and executive functioning skills, and the importance of being kind.”
