BMS DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR 3/1/10

BMS Spring Pictures WILL NOT be tomorrow. They will be March 17th.

Reminder to Dazzler members, we have practice from 2:45-4:15 in the choir room. See Mr. Hogan for questions.

Attention RUNNERS: Coach Cianciola will begin having "Open Run" nights for those ready to get outside and running beginning today. They will also run Wednesday and Thursday. Dress for the cold and meet in the gym at 2:40. If you have questions, see Mrs. Young, Mr. Wisse, or Mr. Calton. Track will officially begin for all athletes on Tuesday the 9th. Information will be distributed later.

Attention all 8th Grade Cheerleaders: Are you interested in cheering for BHS during the 201-2011 school year? If so, please attend a pre-tryout meeting on Tuesday, March 2nd in the BHS Library. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and will last no more than an hour. All interested students and a parent should attend the meeting.

Penny Wars starts today. Also, students can buy MP3 passes during lunch today and tomorrow for $5 to listen to music during lunch.

Tomorrow’s lunch is Chicken Wrap, Potato Wedges, Applesauce, and Milk

Youth Leadership is today at 12:30 in RM 313.

Dazzlers are going to Kiwanis today at 12:30.

Attention all Wrestlers, if you have not turned in your uniforms yet, you must bring it to the Awards Night tonight.

A reminder to all winter athletes, tonight is Awards Night. In order to get your award, you must be present. Please dress nice, and be in the Gym by 6:50 p.m.

Attention 7th and 8th Grade Girls Basketball players: please turn in uniforms and practice jerseys to Coach Hall as soon as possible!

The 7th Grade Girls Basketball players need to be at the Awards Banquet at 6:50 tonight.

The Builders Club is sponsoring Pennies for Patients Drive next week. Tomorrow and Monday students can buy an MP3 pass during lunch for $5. Purchasing a MP3 pass allows you to listen to your I pod and other MP3 players next week during lunch. Also, starting next week students can bring money to their first academic classroom for Penny Wars. More details tomorrow on Penny Wars. The classroom that brings in the most money and the classroom that wins Penny Wars will receive a Pizza Party. Thank you.

Volume Adjustment – Utilize chunking and categorization strategies when presenting information in which the preservation of a sequence is important for successful completion of a task. (e.g., homework) For example, present small chunks of information about an event under the category "Activities Leading Up to the Event," "The Event," "What Happened Last." Students should write notes about the key events under each category.

BMS DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR 2/22/10

Attention 8th Graders: Please have your blue high school scheduling sheets filled out and ready to meet with the high school counselors this Thursday. They will be meeting with you during your social studies class.

Reminder to Dazzler members, we have a MANDATORY practice after school today until 4:15. See Mr. Hogan for questions.

The 8th Grade Lady Chiefs ended their tournament season with a loss in the Semi-Finals to Urbana 36-28. Scoring for the Lady Chiefs: Jazmyn Haley with 11 pts., Kameren Haley with 6 pts., Jordan Lininger with 6 pts., Shauna Smith with 3 pts., and Holly Parker with 2 pts. Lady Chiefs ended their season 10-7.

The Bellefontaine 7th Grade Boys 12-game winning streak came to an end with a 53-45 loss to Shawnee in the semi-final round of the CBC tournament. The Chiefs finish their season with a record of 13-3. Leading the Chiefs in scoring Saturday afternoon was Jake Kennedy with 14 and Tristin Tillman with 12.

The Bellefontaine 8th Grade Boys Basketball team ended their season Saturday losing to Tipp City 53-32 in the semi-finals of the CBC tournament. Cam Henry had 11 and Jarrod Houchin added 9. The team ended the season with an 11-5 record.
