Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month
at 6:30 PM in the Board of Education Office.



President:  Scott Abraham 
was appointed to the Board in January, 2016. His current term will end December 31, 2021.  Scott is a fourth-generation graduate of Bellefontaine City Schools, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy from Miami University.  He and his late father, Richard, owned a real estate company in Bellefontaine for 25 years.  Scott is a licensed broker with Bell Hankins Realty Group, LLC, and is a State Certified Appraiser with Scott A. Abraham DBA as Cardinal Appraisals. Scott has been active in the community as past president of the Logan County Board of Realtors, past chairperson of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Logan County Housing Corporation, past board member of the United Way, Logan County Land Trust, and Downtown Business Partnership. He is chairman of the Mary Rutan Health Association, a board member of Mary Rutan Hospital and Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities Foundation. Scott and his wife, Julie, have a daughter and a son, both being graduates of the District. 

Vice President:  Brenda Sanford
began serving on the Board in January, 2000. Her current term ends December 31, 2023.  Brenda is a graduate of Bellefontaine City School District, and received her Bachelor’s from Miami University and Master’s from The Ohio State University.  She is the founder and director of “Light the Way Christian Counseling Center.”  Brenda is associate minister of First Christian Church, and sings in the chancel choir.  She is active in the community, and is a member of the Hi Point Toastmasters.  She has served the School District as part of the 1999 levy committee and as a member of OSBA.  Brenda has two children, both of whom graduated from the School District, and two of her four grandchildren attend Bellefontaine City Schools.

                   
Board Member:  Anne M. Reames 
has served on the Board since January of 1990.  Her current term ends December 31, 2021.  She is a graduate of the Marion General Hospital School of Practical Nursing.  Anne is currently retired from the Logan County Board of DD, and is currently working for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Anne is active in the community, has been active in raising funds for the Board of Mental Retardation, a member of the YMCA membership  committee, a member of  the  Behavior  Management  Committee for the Board of DD, and a volunteer in fund raising for Special Olympics, as well as having served on various committees for the Logan County United Way.  She received the Friend of Education Award from the Bellefontaine Education Association in 1989, and received the Outstanding Women in Healthcare Award in 1999 from the Business & Professional Women Association.  Anne received her nationwide certification as a nurse in the field of developmental disabilities from the Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association.  She has served in the School District as both a past President and Vice-President of the Board; has served on the finance, legislative, and policy committees for the School District, and as chair of the 1989 Bond Issue and the chair of the 1990 operating levy.  Anne has also served the School District as a member of the Ohio  Hi-Point Joint Vocation School District, where she served as Vice-President and currently serves as President.  Anne was elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the OSBA (Ohio School Boards Association) Southwest Region.  Anne's son, Aaron, graduated from Bellefontaine City Schools and was the Distinguished Alumnus in 2015.


Board Member:  Colin Yoder  
began serving on the Board in January 2020. His current term ends December 31, 2024. Colin is a graduate of Bellefontaine City School District and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Toledo. Colin currently works in marketing communications at OhioHealth a faith-based, not-for-profit healthcare system in Columbus, Ohio, and previously worked in the office of the Franklin County Board of Commissioners. He previously served as a deacon of the 1st United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine and served as co-chair of the 2019 Bellefontaine City School District operating levy committee. He received the Friend of Education award from the Bellefontaine Education Association in 2019 and is a past recipient of the Central Ohio Public Relations Society of America Prism Award. Colin and his wife, Carrie, have two children who are students in the District.
