Board meetings are held the second and fourth Mondays of each month
at 6:30PM in the Board of Education Office.

President:  Joan Haushalter

began serving on the Board in January, 2008.  Her current term ends December 31, 2019.  She and her husband have lived in Bellefontaine more than 20 years.  Joan graduated from University of Missouri-Rolla with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and graduated from University of Detroit School of Law with a Juris Doctor in Law.  Joan is a registered patent attorney, a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, and practices intellectual property law here in Bellefontaine.  She is active in the community, is a board member and current chair of Green Hills Retirement Community, a member of the Green Hills Foundation Board, a board member and past chair of the Mary Rutan Hospital Foundation, a board member of the Logan County Cancer Society, and past chair of the Mary Rutan Health Association.  Joan is an appointed member and current president of the Civil Service Commission, and a past chair of the Downtown Bellefontaine Partnership.  Joan has served the School District as the chairperson for the 2007 Emergency Levy and as a committee member for the 2009 Bond Issue.  She has two children, both of whom graduated from the School District.

Vice President:  Timothy D. O'Rielley
has served on the Board since January, 2004.  His current term ends December 31, 2019.  Tim is a graduate of the School District and a lifelong resident of the School District.  He is currently working for Hill and Hamilton, Inc.  Tim is active in the community, is a past board member of the Logan County Cancer Society, a  past  chairman of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce, and past campaign chairman of the Logan County United Way.   Tim is a past president and current board member of the Logan County United Way.  He has also served as a board member for the Logan County Board of DD, served as the chair for the Economic Development Council, and served as a chair for Community Growth.  He has served the School District as the chairman for the 1992 renewal levy.  Tim has two children, both of whom have graduated from the School district.


Board Member:  Brenda Sanford
began serving on the Board in January, 2000, and her current term ends December 31, 2019.  Brenda is a graduate of Bellefontaine City School District, and received her Bachelor’s from Miami University and Master’s from The Ohio State University.  She is the founder and director of “Light the Way Christian Counseling Center.”  Brenda is associate minister of First Christian Church, and sings in the chancel choir.  She is active in the community, is a member of the Hi Point Toastmasters, and a member of the American Association of University Women.  She has served the School District as part of the 1999 levy committee and as a member of OSBA.  Brenda has two children, both of whom graduated from the School District, and four grandchildren.

                   
Board Member:  Anne M. Reames 
has served on the Board since January of 1990.  Her current term ends December 31, 2017.  She is a graduate of the Marion General Hospital School of Practical Nursing.  Anne is currently retired from the Logan County Board of DD, and is currently working for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Anne is active in the community, has been active in raising funds for the Board of Mental Retardation, a member of the YMCA membership  committee, a member of  the  Behavior  Management  Committee for the Board of DD, and a volunteer in fund raising for Special Olympics, as well as having served on various committees for the Logan County United Way.  She received the Friend of Education Award from the Bellefontaine Education Association in 1989, and received the Outstanding Women in Healthcare Award in 1999 from the Business & Professional Women Association.  Anne received her nationwide certification as a nurse in the field of developmental disabilities from the Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association.  She has served in the School District as both a past President and Vice-President of the Board; has served on the finance, legislative, and policy committees for the School District, and as chair of the 1989 Bond Issue and the chair of the 1990 operating levy.  Anne has also served the School District as a member of the Ohio  Hi-Point Joint Vocation School District, where she served as Vice-President and currently serves as President.  Anne was elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the OSBA (Ohio School Boards Association) Southwest Region.  Anne's son, Aaron, graduated from Bellefontaine City Schools and was the Distinguished Alumnus in 2015.


Board Member:  Scott Abraham
was appointed to the Board in January, 2016.  His current term will end December 31, 2017.  Scott is a third-generation graduate of Bellefontaine City Schools, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy from Miami University.  He and his late father, Richard, owned a real estate company in Bellefontaine for 25 years.  Scott is a licensed broker with Bell Hankins Realty Group, LLC, and is a State Certified Appraiser with Scott A. Abraham DBA as Cardinal Appraisals.  Scott has been active in the community as past president of the Logan County Board of Realtors, past chairperson of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce, past board member of the United Way, Logan County Land Trust, and Downtown Business Partnership.  He is a board member of Logan County Housing Corporation, Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities Foundation, and Mary Rutan Hospital.  Scott and his wife, Julie, have two children; one being a graduate, and the other a high school student in the District.
