BCS Letterhead

Sunday, April 5th, 2020

I am sure everyone already knows that the governor has closed schools through the end of April. As it stands today, our next day back in school would be Monday, May 4. We know this has been an experience we won’t soon forget, but I encourage all of you to hang in there. We will get through this together.

I want to thank parents for accessing paper copies so our students who do not have access to technology could continue their education. I also thank you for maintaining the Social Distancing protocol during that process. After review our plans for picking up paper copies, we made a date and time change:

Paper copies of student work will available on the following schedule only:

Wednesdays only, (4/8,4/15, 4/22, 4/29)

8:00am-Noon and 4:00pm-6:00pm

  • BES - Main Entrance
  • BIS - Main entrance (up the steps) on Williams St.
  • BMS - Main Entrance
  • BHS - Cafeteria

A quick update on grades and student work. While we are accommodating students as much as possible, the completion of work will determine credits earned and grade promotion. It is extremely important that students dedicate time each day to complete work and submit assignments. This is not a time to get behind on work. You can see your child’s progress in ProgressBook. It will be updated every Monday.

This update applies to the eighth grade Washington D.C. trip. I know many parents and students have questions about the trip. I am sure you can imagine the challenges the tour company and our middle school administrators are facing. I can assure you that decision-makers are working on it every day and will provide updates to you as decisions are being made. Please remain patient.

Bellefontaine City School’s Kindergarten Screening scheduled for April 20-23 is POSTPONED. When a new date is set, the information will be posted on our website and on the BCS Facebook page.

Next week is a Virtual Spirit Week. Check out the Spirit Week poster on the District website and Facebook page and have fun with it!

Thank you for your patience during this lengthy update. Please continue to visit the district website and Facebook page for the latest information. Go Chiefs!!!

Sincerely,

Brad Hall
